Solo Pizza is owned and operated by César Acosta. César moved to the United States from Venezuela in July 1998. His first job was at Sonnyʼs Pizza Cafe located in the Broad Ripple area where he learned everything he knows today about pizzas. He didnʼt speak any English, but that didnʼt stop him from learning the business. The owners of Sonnyʼs, Mr.Thomas and son Fred Thomas Jr. opened the doors, welcomed him, gave him the opportunity to work and taught him from cleaning the floors, to doing dishes and definitely how to make pizzas. César will always be thankful to “The Thomasʼ” for everything they did for him.
Finally in 2022, after 2 decades, César decided to pursue his dream and he set a goal to build a pizza food truck business. He worked on this project through 2023, organizing all the pieces to make it become a reality. It wasn't easy, but finally in June 22nd of 2024 he rolled out his new Solo Pizza food truck. His new journey began, which he continues to have a passion for.
A message from César to his customers: “I love to see people’s faces when they take the first bite of the pizza, close their eyes and make a happy face for the taste” This is the reason I became passionate about really good pizza.
